A combination of flat and pitched roofs over load-bearing masonry with precast concrete floor planks. The steel transfer structure over the community facilities spanned up to 10 metres. Steel framed external walkways and balconies were carefully co-ordinated with the load-bearing masonry structure to ensure a seamless transition between the two structural forms.
Long span precast concrete floor planks were utilised to reduce the number of internal load-bearing walls and hence achieve substantial economies in the piled foundations.
