This substantial project was constructed on a 340 acre site in Essex. The hotel and associated facilities were constructed using a steel frame with precast floors and a simple trussed rafter roof.
With a shallow ground water table present across the site the swimming pool had to be designed to resist considerable hydrostatic uplift forces to resist flotation.
Lime and cement stabilisation techniques were employed extensively in the design and construction of external hard landscaped areas and raodways.
