The primary, larger structure consists of a braced steel frame with a ground bearing concrete ground floor.
Lightweight roofs were supported with steel purlins and diagonal bracing was used to provide stability. The new frame was kept independent of the existing building and a specific foundation solution was designed to minimise impact on the existing sub-structure and drainage.
The secondary, smaller structure consists of a steel frame utilising cantilever columns for stability. The ground floor was a concrete beam and block suspended slab.
